10 WORKSHOP COMMANDMENTS - OTHERWISE SAFETY TIPS

By one who has suffered.

1. Keep tools in place “A place for everything and everything in its place”
2. Always use sharp tools.
3. Let the tool do the work.
4. Keep workshop tidy and avoid clutter.
5. Remember the motto “measure twice cut once”.
6. Work in a good light, natural if possible, otherwise by angle-poise lamp.
7.
Firmly secure ties, apron strings and any loose clothing or long hair when using machinery.
8. Wear substantial, comfortable shoes
9. Keep a properly maintained First Aid kit in an accessible place.

10. To avoid frustration pin your apron to the underside of the workbench to catch small items which inevitably drop.
